Sundre mayor Annette Clews is commending the effort of those involved in the recently completed Wild Pink Yonder and Pinkest Little Town in the West breast cancer fundraiser in town and area.

The 12-member Sundre committee, which included Clews, spearheaded the fundraising effort over the past many months, bringing in almost $30,000.

“The whole committee worked extremely hard,” she said. “They were definitely dedicated to the cause. And we had huge support from the businesses and the residents.”

Clews says she hopes the money raised locally, as well as the more than $170,000 raised provincewide through this year's Wild Pink Yonder effort, will help make a difference in the breast cancer fight.

During last week's Sundre and District Chamber of Commerce meeting, chamber president Sherry Tytkanych commended those involved in Sundre's Pinkest Little Town in the West efforts.

“We should be very proud of all they did,” she said.
