A month into her reign Miss Rodeo Canada Arleta Bowhay has already been keeping very, very busy.

Bowhay, a Sundre-Bergen resident, is just got back from the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, where she stayed from Nov. 28 to Dec. 11.

“It was great,” she said. “I got to ride in the rodeo every night. I did a presentation ride. I got to watch the Miss America pageant. I did a bunch of autograph signings at all my sponsor booths at all the trade shows throughout the city.

“It was great to see how they do things down there and to be a part of it all. I was busy the whole time.”

After spending the Christmas season at home with her family, Bowhay will be heading back to the States early in the new year.

“I go down to Denver, Colorado for the Denver Stock Show starting on January 12,” she said.

Back home last week, Bowhay joined her sister Bronwen, who is Miss Rodeo Sundre, and dozens of other 4-H members and Search & Rescue volunteers for the annual food drive in Sundre.
