There is a new board for the 2012/13 season at the Sundre and District Aqua Plex.
The new president is 53-year-old Tamara Smith, who arrived in town four years ago from Olds.
Her appointment is the first time the board of directors has chosen a female president since the facility was constructed in 2001.
“I am very excited to be a part of the larger picture for the Aqua Plex and feel that we have an awesome year to look forward to,” said Smith, who commended the input of the past board during the 2011/12 season. “I have a lot of energy and I am looking forward to meeting people in the community.”
This season's vice-president is Joe Henze, Shelley Welch is the treasurer and Verna McFadden has been appointed secretary.
The facility coordinator is Kelly Dach. She has been with the Aqua Plex for the past 3 years. Dach also provides training.
