Sundre's New Year's baby arrived at 6:31 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2013.
Proud parents Terran and Chantal Meston welcome Victoria Anne-Marie, who is named after her great- grandmother.
Her due date was Dec. 31 and Chantal went into labour at 1:30 a.m. New Year's morning, after celebrating the start of the new year.
ìIt feels wonderful, on top of the world,î said Chantal. Victoria has two older half-brothers, Carter, 7 and Jace, 5.
Terran thought the baby would be born before Christmas, he said. Chantal said she was expecting Victoria to be born when she was scheduled to be induced on Jan. 6.
Vi Ellithorpe, acting president of the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary, presented the Mestons with $1,000 in gift certificates. Divided into four dollar amounts, the gift cards are for Sobeys, V&S Options, Pharmasave and Sundre Community Drugs.
This is part of the annual New Year's baby contest that has been happening since, Ellithorpe believes, the hospital opened in 1968.
