A TransCanada pipeline upgrade project in west Sundre scheduled to get underway in November shouldn't cause any traffic delays on Highway 27, spokesperson Patricia Poulton (above) said during an open house at the West Country Centre on Thursday. The project will see a 400-metres section of 36-inch pipe replaced with pipe that has a greater wall thickness. The new pipe will be run under Highway 27 west of Prairie Creek. The company will use directional drilling, leaving the highway itself untouched, she said. The 30-day construction project should be completed by mid-December, says project manager Hidalgo Martinez.
