Several vandalism incidents were reported to Sundre RCMP officers on April 28.
“All involved graffiti,” said Sundre RCMP Const. Val Dennis.
“The Sundre community van was marked while it was parked on 1 Street NW, a utility trailer was marked behind, and graffiti was also found on items in the Bearberry Court Apartment on Centre Street in Sundre,” he said.
The utility trailer belongs to Dad's Ideal Cleaning Supplies on Centre Street. There has also been other vandalism in town recently reported to RCMP officers, and the same message marked on the community van was marked on a police car, he said.
Whoever is responsible could be charged with mischief.
He believes the markings were done by the same person, and they used a black felt pen.
“If you look at the picture you see there is kind of a bit of artistic talent to it, and you know, that type of graffiti and that type of talent is hard to be duplicated by somebody else,” he said.
“Somebody had a hand for that.”
He said graffiti is not common in Sundre. However, there is a variety of graffiti markings under both bridges in town, as well as the walking bridge.
“I just hope that we can find whoever is doing this so that it doesn't get out of hand,” he said.
“To mark up the community van isn't a very nice gesture.”
RCMP officers are asking for anyone with any information to call the detachment at 403-638-3675 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
