SUNDRE — The stage is set for the cameras to start rolling on a new pilot series.
Sundre is "set to become the fictional town of ‘Hardwell’ in an original new series,” reads a portion of press release issued Friday by the municipality.
Led by Edmonton-based creator Raoul Bhatt, the show, called Pipe Nation, is a made-in-Alberta series that will be filmed in and around Sundre and brings "with it support for potentially hundreds of jobs and some serious cred for Sundre in the film industry.”
Bhatt is an experienced filmmaker and has worked as cinematographer and producer for the Daytime Emmys as well as with Universal Studio’s Jurassic World.
A panel discussion at the Greenwood Community Gazebo scheduled July 7 from 10-11 a.m. will be followed by a community casting call to local residents for extras.
Bhatt will be joined by Brock Skretting, head of Advocacy with Keep Alberta Rolling, as well as Jon Allan, Sundre's economic development officer.
