The Town of Sundre has joined Mountain View County in imposing a fire ban for the municipality.
Effective May 13, the town has banned open fires, charcoal briquette barbeques, campfires, fires used for cooking, burning barrels and the discharge of fireworks.
The ban does not include cooking and heating appliances that are fuelled by natural gas or propane.
The ban comes into effect immediately and will continue until further notice, town officials said Tuesday.
