The Sundre RCMP detachment received 88 calls for service from Jan. 1 to Jan. 15, including the following:
False alarms 12
Suspicious person/property/vehicle 2
Crimes against property 10
Crimes against person 3
Breach of peace 1
On Thursday, Jan. 14, police and EMS responded to an early morning collision on Snake Hill. A male and female riding a Ski-Doo collided with a metal gate, which resulted in serious injuries to both individuals. The duo was transported to a hospital in Calgary due to the severity of their injuries. Police are still investigating the matter.
On Sunday, Jan. 17, several vehicles were broken into and items were stolen. Two vehicles were parked in the Sundre High School parking lot and another vehicle near Greenwood Apartments. It is believed that the offences occurred between 1 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. that Sunday morning. A light bar, which is estimated to be worth several hundred dollars, was stolen off of a vehicle parked at the school. Police would like to remind the public to ensure that vehicles are locked and that spare vehicle keys, wallets, garage door openers and other valuables are removed from their vehicles.
