SUNDRE – The municipality has undertaken a process to update its development plan with efforts to consult the public poised to get underway next year.

Council heard on Dec. 19 during the last regular meeting of 2022 that the municipality will in 2023 also continue consulting the community to develop plans beyond the concept stage for the four-season, passive use outdoor recreation area on the east side of town.

Both plans, which are each considered critical to the town’s growth and development, require public input to ensure the municipality is receiving from local stakeholders feedback that will be considered in drafting the documents, states background information in the council meeting's agenda package.

Administration sought primarily to inform council about the planned public consultation in the hopes that providing advanced notice might plant the seeds of interest in more residents and stakeholders and by extension generate more community participation in the process.

Dates, along with any other pertinent information about the planned public consultations, will once determined be posted on the municipality’s website.

Council carried a motion accepting the report from administration.
