A truck parked outside of an undisclosed Sundre business near the intersection of Main Avenue and Highway 760 was stolen on Halloween night.
The black 2000 Ford pickup truck was stolen between 6 p.m. on Oct. 31 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 1, according to Sundre RCMP Const. Abram Letkeman.
“The keys weren't with the vehicle. I can't answer to whether it was unlocked or not, but I do know that the keys were not in or with the vehicle,” said Letkeman.
He is also unaware of the value of the vehicle and said RCMP officers have no leads in the investigation as of last Wednesday evening.
“We're hoping that because of the extra traffic that would have been out on Halloween night that maybe somebody may have seen something,” he said.
“Make sure that your vehicles are locked up and that there's no important documents or cash visible in the vehicle, or any other sort of electronics that might be desirable for somebody to try and steal.”
Cpl. Ryan Hodge said other than this incident, Halloween was quiet for RCMP officers.
“Halloween was pretty tame, so it was good,” said Hodge.
If anyone has any information regarding this incident they are asked to call the detachment at 403-638-3675 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
