With the downtown pedestrian zone going ahead next summer, administration at the Town of Banff believes visitor paid parking coupled with free intercept parking will help deal with congestion.

“I know this is hard on all of us, but you are doing such a disservice to yourself and to this community and to our economy by asking your employees come in if there is any risk that they’re positive.”

“We’re anticipating a big influx of these new and inexperienced users – snowshoers, cross-country skiers, even walkers – people that just want to get out into the mountains.”

“We know we’re not out of the woods yet. We’re wanting to continue to support safety measures and keeping people safe, and remain welcoming and open.”

“If we see increasing COVID cases going into hospital, the only way to provide the space to care for them is to stop doing other services … Albertans who need other care could end up having their health conditions worsen as these COVID cases rises."

“Take the problem seriously. Children and youth who bully others often get into serious trouble in later life and may receive criminal convictions. They may have continuing trouble in their relationships with others," Belsey said. “Make it clear to the child that you will not tolerate this kind of behaviour, and discuss with the child the negative impact bullying has on the victims.”
