Also Friday, Health Canada approved the use of Moderna's mRNA vaccine for booster shots for adults 18 and older, to be used at least six months after the second shot. The Moderna booster is a half-dose of the regular vaccine.

In its decision today, a majority of the Supreme Court said starting points are a permissible form of sentencing guidance from appeal courts.

"It’s a really significant step forward for mitigating the impacts of highways on wildlife in Alberta,” said Adam Linnard, Y2Y’s Alberta program manager.
