School was back in session for students at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys on Sept. 4.
Principal Rose McQuay said the school is up to about 275 students from 256 last year. She noted that's even after the school lost its French immersion program.
The first day of school is an exciting one for educators. “Seeing all their happy smiling faces,” was what McQuay said was the best part of being back.
She said it seemed both the students and their parents were thrilled to be starting classes.
This year at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys School there are smaller classes for students. The school started offering its full-day kindergarten option this year, a program McQuay said has received a “very positive” reaction for its inclusion.
