Bowden could have new CAO in a month

BOWDEN -- Town council should know who their permanent chief administrative officer (CAO) is In about a month or so, Mayor Robb Stuart says.

BOWDEN -- Town council should know who their permanent chief administrative officer (CAO) is In about a month or so, Mayor Robb Stuart says.

Jacqui Molyneux, the town's chief financial officer (CFO), has been serving as interim CAO since last July, when the town and former CAO James Mason parted ways.

Mason began serving as CAO on March 1, 2016. He went on medical leave on Jan. 12, 2018, at which time Molyneux filled in for him. She continued on in that position when he left in July.

The town then hired a headhunting firm to find a new CAO.

They met with at least one candidate last week.

Stuart said town council does not have a target date for hiring a new CAO.

"The sooner the better," he said, noting Molyneux has been working hard to fulfil both her CFO role and the acting CAO role.

Stuart said Molyneux has told council she does not want the CAO job. He said he can't blame her.

"You couldn't pay me enough to do all that. It's quite the thing," he said.
