Bowden man charged with stealing multiple vehicles

A 26-year-old Bowden man was charged with several vehicle thefts following an RCMP investigation launched Nov. 16.

A 26-year-old Bowden man was charged with several vehicle thefts following an RCMP investigation launched Nov. 16.

After two quads, a 2008 Can Am Outlander 800 and a 2010 Can Am Outlander Max 500, and a 2012 Skidoo Expedition Tundra 550 snowmobile went missing from a rural residence near Bowden, police searched a farm in the area. There they found the vehicles along with a 2007 Yamaha quad stolen from the Bowden area Oct. 4, plus a 2005 Dodge Caravan stolen from the Markerville area Oct. 21. A stolen licence plate was also recovered.

Tyler Wayne James Ratledge was charged with five counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, one count of possession of stolen property under $5,000, three counts of failing to comply with a recognizance and one count of being in possession of a firearm while prohibited.

He was remanded in custody and was to appear in Calgary provincial court on Nov. 19.
