The public is invited to check out Penhold town council's upcoming budget deliberation meetings.

Mayor Dennis Cooper said at the Oct. 29 organizational meeting council addressed the issue.

“We talked about our budget and our budget deliberations,” he said.

The budget meetings are scheduled for Nov. 19, Dec. 3 and Dec. 10. Each will begin at 6 p.m.

The remaining regular council meetings for 2012 will be held Nov. 19 and Dec. 17. Dec. 17 will be the only regular council meeting held in December.

The public is allowed to attend regular council meetings any time. They usually start at 6 p.m., though sometimes public hearings see proceedings begin earlier.

Cooper said there will be a question-and-answer period at the end of the budget meetings. A public consultation meeting will be held once the budget is closer to being finalized, which he hopes will be by the end of January.

In 2013, council meeting schedules will shift a bit with the addition of a community engagement meeting.

Cooper said community engagement meetings will be held the first Monday of each month.

“We're going to be approaching any clubs, organizations and groups,” he said.
