INNISFAIL – With spring now officially here, the Innisfail and District Chamber of Commerce is ready for its annual trade show.
The two-day event takes place at the Innisfail Arena April 5 from 5 to 9 p.m. and April 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“There’s over 100 booths in the west arena and then in the east arena we have a Taste of Innisfail, the children’s area and auto row,” said Carla Gabert, chamber manager.
Gabert said the trade show is a great way to showcase area businesses, products and services.
“We always encourage people to shop local,” said Gabert.”There is something for the whole family and something for everyone.
“We have a mix of spring and yard (businesses) to professional, to not-for-profits,” she added. “There is a full mix (of products and services), and of course with this year being an election year there are some political booths in there too.”
There are a couple of new additions to the event this year, she noted, adding the event is being held a couple of weeks earlier than most years.
“We have a lot of first-time vendors this year too, so there are some great new companies for people to come out and see,” said Gabert.
“This year in our children’s area there is a couple of special sign-in crafts that parents will want to make sure they sign their kids into ahead of time,” said Gabert, noting some new booths at the show this year. “There’s some surprises there for everybody.”
On Friday evening beginning at 5 p.m., FortisAlberta is again sponsoring a barbecue while supplies last, and on Saturday morning the public is welcome to enjoy a pancake breakfast sponsored by Servus Credit Union and W.A. Grains & Pulse Solutions.
The Innisfail Trade Show is free to attend but they are accepting food bank donations, said Gabert, adding they expect another great turnout this year.
“We are going to have another great trade show and we’re looking forward to seeing everybody out,” Gabert concluded.
