Night of wine sampling helps raise Rotary funds

For the fourth year, Innisfail Rotary will raise funds by serving up an evening of wine tasting on Oct. 27.

“It's a great evening of visiting and socializing,” said event organizer and Rotarian Denise Lester.

There will be several different wine companies there with different samples to try, she said. Additionally there will be some beers and spirits to taste as well.

“We're doing the one night in Bangkok theme,” she said of the evening's planned tone. The appetizers will be largely Asian in origin.

Tickets for the night are $50 per person and can be purchased from Rotary members, at Miller Lehane & Wild or at Sundance Realty & Management.

The event starts at 7 p.m. and goes until 10 p.m. in the Innisfail Legion's auditorium.

Anyone who wants to enjoy a night out is welcome to come to the event.

“It's open to the community,” Lester said. She said there will be some opportunities to learn more about what Rotary does during the evening.

Funds raised by the Rotary are divided up into thirds. One-third goes to local community projects, one-third goes to youth initiatives and one-third goes to international work.

Fourlane Ford donates money for test drives

A local vehicle dealership will be donating $20 for every test drive taken to St. Marguerite Bourgeoys School on Oct. 20.

Fourlane Ford will have several different models of Fords available to take for a short trial spin at the school on 51 Avenue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fourlane Ford will donate up to $6,000 to help further student activities and programs.

There is a limit of one test drive per house hold and the driver must be 18 or older with a valid licence.
