Recreation funding approved
Recreation funding from Red Deer County increased $4,440 this year after Penhold's population map was updated. After Township 36-26 was added to the Town of Penhold, funding allocation grew to $64,120 for each of the first three years of the contract and jumped by $9,780 to $73,900 for years 4-5 of the contract. The agreement lasts until Dec. 31, 2017. Funding is meant to help ensure use of facilities by country residents.
The contract was approved at the Feb. 11 meeting, with Coun. Kathy Sitter opposed.
UQMP updated
A motion to improve the Uniform Management Quality Plan was approved unanimously Feb. 11.
ìEach year we go through an inspection,î said CAO Rick Binnendyk, noting the revised version deals with liability issues more effectively.
During a review anything that's missing is flagged, he said.
ìWe're just going to approve this,î he said, ìso it's current.î
