Michael Gothreau & Rocket 88 rocked the Zoo on Oct. 26 in a ghoulish fundraiser for the Innisfail Food Bank.

From Vikings to video game characters, the audience was full of colourful attendees.

“We have customers in here that rely on the food bank,” said Mike Parkin, the Zoo's bar manager. “Single moms don't care where the groceries come from when they're feeding their kids.”

The fundraiser brought in over $670 in cash and five boxes of non-perishable food items.

Amber Tokaryk and James Greenough won the best couple contest taking home a 32-inch TV for dressing up as Batman: Arkham Asylum characters. Michelle Dubois won best costume for an accurate depiction of a Walking Dead zombie, receiving a Bose home theatre system as her prize.

“She pulled it off huge,” said Parkin. “Really the food bank wins and that's what matters.”

The Innisfail Goddesses brought in $2,400 for the food bank and other charities at their weekend fundraiser.

“It was excellent,” said goddess Marci Bishop. “I've never seen so many people dressed up as they have this year.”
