INNISFAIL — A man who faced a string of charges after he was arrested following reports he'd been exposing himself to underage minors is out on conditions after pleading guilty.

Innisfail RCMP Staff Sgt. Chris Matechuk, the detachment's commanding officer, confirmed during an interview with The Albertan last month that local resident Terry Haskell, 68, received three years of probation as well as a 10-year prohibition order barring him from schools, parks and public places where children are present.

Following reports Haskell had been seen in a residence doorway exposing himself while children passed the residence, the Innisfail RCMP on Jan. 19 arrested and charged him with adult indecent act, among other offences including failure to comply with conditions and adult mischief under $5,000, said Matechuk.

While the charges of failure to comply and adult mischief were withdrawn, Matechuk said Haskell was convicted on the charge of adult indecency.

“He spent some time in custody," said Matechuk, adding, "He wasn’t released, so he was given time served.”

The date of disposition when Haskell was convicted in Red Deer provincial court was March 24, he said.
