School has started once again for hundreds of children in Innisfail.
The RCMP is reminding drivers that the area's around the schools will be filled with excited children looking forward to their first few days and they may not be necessarily be paying proper attention to safety on the roads.
“We ask that all drivers slow down and take their time around the school zones to ensure their safety,” said Innisfail RCMP Const. Chris Lavery. “This includes obeying all speed limits, parking in the appropriate place and paying close attention.
“And yield to pedestrian's in all crosswalks,” he added.
Lavery said traffic congestion will be an issue and both RCMP and Innisfail peace officers will be in the schools' areas to ensure the safety of the children and the orderly flow of traffic.
