Local golfer debuts in U.S. university play

Since being recruited to the California University of Pennsylvania women's golf team, Cara Vanderham has been playing well in her college debut. Vanderham qualified for all four fall season tournaments.

Since being recruited to the California University of Pennsylvania women's golf team, Cara Vanderham has been playing well in her college debut.

Vanderham qualified for all four fall season tournaments. She placed a top 10 individual score of 75, 77 in her first tournament at Carson Newman Invitational in Tennessee. The team placed second overall.

The team continued on to Indianapolis Invitational where they placed first. Then they went on to Allendale, Mich. where they placed second.

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference held its tournament in Hershey, Pa., where the ladies placed first in the Division II State University Golf, with Vanderham's teammate, senior Maria Lopez, capturing first overall individual score. The CALU women's golf team is ranked 11th in the country and first among teams in Super Region One according to Golf Stat.
