Local broker named Top Investor
Sarah Strauss of Mortgage Alliance – ThePlaceToMortgage was named the 2012 West Coast Top Investor at an awards ceremony held in Vancouver on Nov. 17.
The award is given to an individual broker who serves a western Canadian customer base. Strauss knew she'd made the top five but hadn't expected to win.
“I was really actually quite shocked,” she said Monday morning of gaining the top spot.
Strauss said she'd been nominated by some of her customers and then had to go through quite a process to complete the nomination process. She said a variety of factors are considered in narrowing down the list to the finalists.
The award is done through Canadian Real Estate Wealth Magazine. Strauss will be featured in the March issue as part of her win.
Social Credit visits Innisfail
The Alberta Social Credit Party held its annual general meeting in Innisfail at the Golden Cottage on Nov. 17.
In addition to party business and electing the board of directors for 2013, speaker Maaike Rosendal from the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform talked about ending abortion, and other discussions were held on policies and problems facing Alberta, as well as finding future candidates.
