Impaired driver charged A 20-year-old male from Innisfail is facing impaired driving charges after a motor vehicle accident on Highway 2A on Nov. 30.
Cpl. A.J. Mand said RCMP were called to the accident scene, which was between Penhold and Innisfail. The 20-year-old driver had rear-ended another vehicle with his.
He was arrested for impaired driving and taken to Red Deer where he did a breathalyzer test. Mand said the reading showed a blood-alcohol level three times the legal limit.
The man was charged with impaired driving and driving with his blood-alcohol over the legal limit.
Stolen vehicle recovered
RCMP recovered a Jeep that had been stolen from Red Deer in Innisfail on Dec. 2.
Mand said police were called to a scene near 53 Avenue. On arrival, they discovered a gold Jeep Compass that had been reported stolen.
They arrested and charged a youth from Red Deer.
Smashed and stolen
Fourlane Ford reported to RCMP on Dec. 1 that tires and rims were stolen off a 2009 Ford Explorer and other SUV windows smashed.
The incident had happened overnight and was reported in the morning.
Stolen wallet, jewelry, nuts
On Dec. 5, three separate incidents of vehicles being gone through were reported to the police.
A vehicle parked in the area of 42 Street was unlocked and gone through. A wallet was missing from the vehicle.
A vehicle parked in the 46 Avenue area was entered. Police said it was reported the vehicle was locked but no damage was done to gain entry. “Junk jewelry” was taken from the car, Mand said.
Finally, police are seeking public help after a second vehicle in the 46 Avenue area was entered and the contents gone through. However, the only thing reported missing was a container of nuts.
“If anybody knows which squirrel stole these nuts please contact the RCMP,” said Mand.
