Break and enter at drop-in centre The Penhold Seniors Drop-in Centre was broken into via the back door at 3 a.m. on Oct. 31 said police. Cpl. A.J. Mand said the alarm was set off and officers attended. Nothing was taken from the building.

Rude gesture leads to arrest

Blackfalds RCMP were passing the Fas Gas in Penhold Oct. 29 when an intoxicated man gave the one-fingered salute to the officers.

Mand said the Blackfalds RCMP stopped and ended up arresting the Red Deer man for being intoxicated in a public place.

During arrest they found a knife in his pocket. They laid a charge of carrying a concealed weapon.

While being booked into cells they discovered he had a ball of hashish in his pocket.

Vehicle damaged in Penhold

Mischief was done to a vehicle parked in the Dundee Crescent area on Oct. 29.

Damage was done to the driver's side door and the ignition. Some CDs were taken from the vehicle.

Stolen and recovered

A truck and a car were taken in Penhold last week but both were recovered a few blocks from where they were parked.

On Oct. 28 an Oldsmobile Cutlass was taken from where it was parked on Robinson Avenue but found a block away.

On Oct. 29 a Chevy Silverado truck was stolen overnight from Larne Place but was recovered a few blocks away.

Backhoe taken

A backhoe was stolen from a construction site nearby the Dickson Dam on Oct. 29, police said.
