Quad recovered
A quad stolen from Innisfail Truck Ranch was recovered after a police pursuit that started in Red Deer.
The quad was stolen Sept. 18, Cpl. A.J. Mand said. A press release from Red Deer RCMP said on Sept. 19 at about 6:51 a.m. police were responding to a domestic assault complaint in the south end of the city. When they arrived at the scene they found a female being dragged beside a moving pickup truck.
Police saw the woman being pulled into the vehicle by a male. They pursued the vehicle, which was towing a utility trailer with a quad on it. The truck slowed down and the woman jumped out while it was moving. The chase continued to a field where the truck stopped and the driver attempted to flee on the stolen quad, but instead was apprehended by RCMP officers, said the release.
Charges of dangerous driving, flight from police and four counts of possession of stolen property are pending.
Break and enter interrupted
Two youths were charged after the RCMP were alerted to a break and enter in progress on Sept. 17.
The Innisfail RCMP were contacted at 3 p.m., Mand said. Officers attended the scene and arrested two youths who were trying to break into a building owned by the Town of Innisfail.
The pair attempted to get in via the window.
They were both charged with breaking and entering causing mischief and possession of breaking and entering tools.
Impaired charges
A 61-year-old man from Didsbury was charged with impaired driving and driving with his blood-alcohol level over the legal limit after he was stopped on the QEII on Sept. 18.
The man was pulled over about 3 p.m., arrested and taken to Red Deer for breath testing.
Police said the man's breath sample showed a blood-alcohol level three times the legal limit.
Lock cut
A car dealership on 42 Avenue was entered overnight after the lock was cut.
Police said the incident was reported Sept. 18. Nothing was reported missing.
Attempted entry
A residence in Penhold ended up with damaged windows and doors after someone tried to break in Sept. 14.
Police said the attempt came between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Access to the home wasn't gained.
Windows smashed
A mischief incident is still under investigation after six or seven men showed up at a rural property east of Penhold, smashed the windows of a vehicle and left.
The smashing happened on Sept. 17 at about 8 p.m., police said. They said there are possible suspects in the case.
Fuel thefts
There were two thefts of fuel in rural areas reported by police.
The first occurred on Sept. 14, when 700 litres of diesel fuel were taken from a tractor left overnight at a lease site near Rge. Rd. 22.
About 70 gallons of fuel were taken from a gas tank on a property in rural Innisfail on Sept. 14. The lock was cut off the tank.
Counterfeit bills
Mand suggested being wary of any US$50 bills. Another fake bill was passed to a bank last week. The previous week a man had received a fake note after he held a garage sale.
