Road rage
RCMP are looking for a Caucasian male between 25 and 30 years of age after a driver was assaulted on the QEII on June 27.
A press release from the Innisfail RCMP Integrated Traffic Unit said shortly before 8:30 a.m. that night, the RCMP responded to an incident near Gasoline Alley. Witnesses said a dark coloured pickup truck travelling south had forced a double-trailer transport truck off the highway and onto the shoulder.
Both vehicles stopped and the driver of the pickup truck got out and approached the driver of the transport truck and started punching the driver's side window. He broke through the window and continued his attack.
The suspect then left the scene, driving through the ditch and west into the north end of Gasoline Alley at a high speed.
The suspect is about 5 feet 9 inches with an average build and may be driving a dark blue or black Ford Super-duty extended cab pickup truck. The truck might have front-end damage.
“This appears to be a case of road rage gone wrong,” said Const. Steve Molnar. The 37-year-old victim from Calgary suffered facial lacerations and was treated at the scene.

Gravel doughnuts
On June 22, a mischief complaint came in to the Innisfail RCMP detachment from a gravel pit near Rge. Rd. 25. Someone had driven a quad through a fence and into the gravel pit, where the driver spun doughnuts in the pit overnight.
Frustrating technology
A woman was spoken to by the Innisfail RCMP after she kicked and damaged an ATM in Innisfail. She had kicked the machine claiming it didn't give her the money she had taken out.
Domestic assaults
A man in Penhold was charged with assault after a domestic incident on June 23.
His wife called police and said he'd punched her in the face and pushed her to the ground.
In a different June 23 incident, an Innisfail woman was charged with assault after a domestic incident.
A male called and said his intoxicated common-law partner had punched him in the face.
Suspicious garbage
A concerned Innisfail citizen called the RCMP to report a red van had dropped off a suspicious package in a back alley on June 23.
The caller feared the package was a bomb. RCMP officers attended the scene and it turned out to be some garbage.
Name-calling
On June 24, a man complained to the RCMP his wife was receiving harassing phone calls.
A third party had been phoning his wife and leaving condescending messages. RCMP said the calls turned out to be more name-calling than threatening and no parties wanted charges laid.
Hit and run
A Toyota Tundra was damaged in a hit-and-run incident at the Co-op Home Centre on June 25.
The owner reported the vehicle's passenger side was dented and scraped. There is no suspect vehicle.
Gassing up
One thousand litres of gas was stolen from a property in a rural area.
The theft was reported on June 25. The fuel was taken from a free-standing locked tank. Another two tanks of “purple fuel” meant for farming vehicles were not touched in the incident, but the regular gas was stolen.
Boulevard Close thefts
On June 26, two different thefts were reported as occuring overnight on Boulevard Close.
The first was a vehicle break-in. The vehicle had been locked but someone broke in and stole a pair of binoculars. The word “nigr” was etched into the car's door handle.
The second saw a yellow bike and two Leathermans stolen. The estimated loss was about $2,800.
Stolen piggy bank
A piggy bank was taken from a vehicle parked on 54A Avenue Crescent overnight on June 26.
The woman reported her daughter's bank had contained some change. An egg was also thrown into the back seat of the vehicle.
Found bike
A ladies' frame mountain bike was turned in to the Innisfail RCMP on June 28.
The white bike is a Supercyle San Pedro. It was found on 47 Avenue.
And it's gone
The Innisfail RCMP received a stolen vehicle complaint from a man at 1:30 a.m. on June 29.
The man had left his vehicle running when he went into the Mac's store for a few minutes. When he came out the vehicle was gone and he reported it to the police.
Officers attended and they found the vehicle 20 feet away still running. It had rolled away. The RCMP had the vehicle towed.
