A patient at the Olds Hospital and Care Centre survived after quick action by a policeman after Innisfail RCMP were contacted with a Priority 1 dispatch May 1 at 10 a.m.

Const. Myles Hayden drove to the Innisfail Medical Centre to pick up medication to bring to the patient in Olds.

“This medication was going to save someone's live,” said Const. Kathy Reddy, noting the whole detachment stopped what they were doing to pay attention to the incoming dispatch. “The officer got there in record time.”

On April 25 at 11 p.m. a driver in the Graduate Driver Licensing (GDL) program received a 30-day licence suspension after being caught driving near Spruce View and smelling like alcohol. The vehicle was seized for seven days.

At about 3 a.m. on April 26 a driver received a 72-hour suspension for an alcohol-related offence along Highway 2A.

On April 27 a man was arrested for “care or control of a motor vehicle,” an offence which refers to an impaired driver who, while not actually driving, may be at risk of driving, often related to an individual drinking while sitting in the driver's seat of a parked car. The man refused to provide a breath sample.

A Penhold man reported the theft of a motor vehicle at 9:30 a.m. April 27. Police are requesting anyone with information about a missing silver 2010 Mazda 3 to contact the Innisfail RCMP detachment.

At 7:45 a.m. April 28 police learned of the theft of a red truck from Penhold. The red 2008 Dodge Ram was located at 5:30 p.m. that day, but three individuals fled the vehicle and ran through the Penhold Trailer Park. Innisfail RCMP and Integrated Traffic members were unable to find the suspects.

Items that didn't belong to the truck owner were found in the vehicle and were sent to the forensic identification unit to be examined.

Two female occupants escaped unharmed after their 1998 Buick Regal flipped upside down off the right side of northbound QE II Highway just south of the Cottonwood Overpass around 9 a.m. April 30.

The female driver was charged provincially with failing to maintain the lane following the incident.
