A man is facing a number of charges after he was stopped driving a stolen vehicle while impaired on April 12 just after 9:15 a.m., according to Innisfail detachment RCMP.
The maroon Pontiac van had been stolen from an Innisfail location, said Staff Sgt. Chris Matechuk.
Richard Taylor, 42, of Innisfail, was charged with operation of a stolen vehicle, impaired driving, taking a motor vehicle without consent, failure to comply with a probation order, failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking, driving while disqualified and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
He was remanded in custody. He was scheduled to attend court April 15.
Around midnight April 14 the Innisfail fire hall was hit by a Ford F-350, causing significant damage, before the driver took off.
A 28-year-old male was charged with failure to remain at the scene and careless driving after police located the vehicle on 50th Avenue.
Alcohol was a factor in the collision, according to Innisfail RCMP.
Vandalism to a youth building owned by the Lutheran church in Spruce View was reported April 15 just after noon.
The complainant found damage to the thermostat and profane graffiti at the site of the converted garage.
A 46th Avenue fourplex residence that recently went up in flames was broken into sometime between April 6 and April 16.
A TV with fire damage, a cellphone and a 49 cc pocket quad were reported stolen April 17.
A 2001 Ford Explorer parked on 54th Avenue was broken into sometime on the night of April 12.
The doors had been locked and the vehicle was entered forcibly. Nothing was missing when the mischief was reported the next morning.
