A RCMP investigation has been launched following a serious assault with injuries that occurred last week at the Bowden Institute.
At around 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 8th, a Bowden Institute inmate assaulted a fellow inmate, resulting in injuries and outside hospital attention, said Rita Wehrle, Bowden Institute's assistant warden of management.
“We are going to ensure the safety and security of the institution and the people inside the institution,” said Wehrle.
Innisfail RCMP Cpl. Jeff Hildebrandt said the case is being probed but added he can't disclose information to the media on the extent of the injuries or how they occurred.
No charges from the assault have been laid as of press time.
