INNISFAIL – A Sylvan Lake man is facing several Criminal Code charges in connection to a local break and enter and subsequent drug bust.
At about 5:55 a.m. on Jan. 6, local Mounties were dispatched to probe a break and enter at a local business, said Innisfail RCMP Cpl. Michael Heysa in a press release issued today (Jan. 7).
He said RCMP then received a call at 7:42 a.m. of a vehicle in a ditch at an undisclosed location in Red Deer County.
RCMP members attended and determined the male driver to be on outstanding warrants, said Heysa. He said during a search subsequent to the man’s arrest, the RCMP seized a quantity of suspected drugs and paraphernalia related to drug trafficking.
Heysa said additional investigation led police to locate and seize property that was determined to be stolen during the earlier break and enter.
He said it was then determined by RCMP the male’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by a drug.
Lee Michael Falsetta, 34, of Sylvan Lake, has been charged with:
• two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
• break and enter
• theft under $5,000
• impaired operation of a conveyance
• possession of proceeds of crime
Falsetta was brought before a justice of the peace, and released to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Feb. 2.
