Trio facing property charges after Penhold crash

Three males, including an Innisfailian, are facing criminal charges in connection to a stolen vehicle recently recovered by RCMP near Penhold.

INNISFAIL -- Three males are facing criminal charges following a crash in their stolen vehicle in Penhold.

Innisfail RCMP Sgt. Lori Eiler said local Mounties responded to a single-vehicle crash report on Feb. 7.

Eiler said a witness at the scene in Penhold observed three males exit the vehicle and flee on foot. 

She said police quickly learned the crashed vehicle was a stolen red Pontiac G6.  Patrols were made and three males, matching the description provided by the witness, were located nearby, said Eiler. 

She said all three males were arrested without incident.

Bradley Forslund, 20, of Red Deer, has been charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 , possession of a controlled substance, two counts of failing to comply and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.

Forslund was released by a justice of the peace with conditions and was scheduled to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Feb. 8.

 Dalton Jeffries, 18, of Red Deer, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, two counts of failing to comply and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.

Jeffries was also released by the justice of the peace with conditions to appear and was scheduled to appear in Red Deer provincial court on March 1.

 Eiler said the third male was identified and is under the age of 18. She said his name will not be released at this time.
