INNISFAIL – The Innisfail 590 Slo-Pitch League has stepped up to help a local family. The league raised a total of $9,000 for Innisfail's Jim Brittain with its annual sno-pitch tournament Feb. 16 and 17.

PENHOLD – Plans for a new $200,000 interactive, inclusive and accessible playground are moving forward. Jaelene VandenBrink, an elementary school teacher and local parent, provided a project update to council at a meeting Jan. 28.

INNISFAIL – After close to a decade, Kathy Calkins has said goodbye to Innisfail. The 58-year-old pastor at Innisfail’s Peace Lutheran Church gave her last sermon on Feb. 3 with her final day on Feb. 11.

INNISFAIL – Winter can be a time to enjoy the great outdoors. Students at École John Wilson Elementary School in Innisfail celebrated winter with an outdoor carnival on Jan. 28.

INNISFAIL --- Town council has given its staff the green light to pursue a trio of federal and provincial grant programs that would benefit the community's youth and seniors. At council's regular Jan.

INNISFAIL -- RCMP have nabbed two suspects, including an Innisfail man, in connection to a robbery on Feb. 13 at the local ATB branch on Main Street. Innisfail RCMP Staff Sgt. Chris Matechuk said local Mounties were called at about 4:30 p.m.
