INNISFAIL – An Innisfail High School student has been suspended after a threat at the school was made last week.

PENHOLD – Residents in Innisfail, Penhold and Red Deer County may soon benefit from a joint transportation initiative. Teresa Ainscough, FCSS coordinator for the Town of Penhold, gave a presentation about the initiative to Penhold council on Feb. 26.

INNISFAIL – As in most competitions for the young it should not always be about winning. It is about making the effort to put your best foot forward.

INNISFAIL – The town has agreed to review sites for the long-awaited new skatepark, a decision arising from past concerns of inadequate public engagement and the final choice being unfair to the long-established Innisfail Horseshoe Club.

INNISFAIL – With a byelection expected in the riding of Innisfail-Sylvan Lake sometime over the next several months, political parties are preparing for the call.

PENHOLD – For the second time in 10 years the Town of Penhold is expanding its boundaries. The province approved the annexation of about 1,300 acres of land from Red Deer County on Feb. 21.

INNISFAIL – The town will not spend money to put the brakes to late evening noisemakers in the parking lot at Centennial Park – for now.

INNISFAIL – It was a date with a lasting impression. The first speed dating with council took place at the Innisfail Library/ Learning Centre on March 3.

BOWDEN – The Town of Bowden is reclaiming a big portion of its land. The province recently approved the annexation of 320 acres of land from Red Deer County that was previously owned by the town.

INNISFAIL – Two more area residents are seeking the United Conservative Party (UCP) nomination for the riding of Innisfail-Sylvan Lake.
