INNISFAIL – An older residential neighbourhood is about to be modernized with $2.6-million worth of underground infrastructure, surface improvements and new sidewalks along two blocks of 41st Street and 49A Avenue.

INNISFAIL – Devin Dreeshen has thrown his hat in the ring to become the new United Conservative Party MLA for the Innisfail-Sylvan Lake riding. The 30-year-old son of federal Conservative Party MP Earl Dreeshen became the second candidate on Feb.

INNISFAIL – Innisfail’s second Syrian refugee family has arrived with a third expected later this year. The new family of five, including a girl and two boys, arrived in Innisfail on Dec. 16.

PENHOLD – Local RCMP continue their investigation into a two-vehicle intersection crash that caused extensive damage and the rerouting of traffic for 90 minutes. At about 1:30 p.m. on Feb.

PENHOLD – The people of Penhold have rallied together to help the families in the wake of last week’s devastating fire. The fire on Feb. 12 destroyed two mobile homes and left two couples homeless.

PENHOLD – Firefighters have determined that an open flame heater inside a mobile home was "likely” the cause of a fire that destroyed two homes at Penhold Estates Mobile Home Park. The Feb.

INNISFAIL - The Innisfail Hurricanes Water Polo Club is finishing up its season with a splash. The club, which has athletes aged six to 13 this year, has seen good development in its players this year, said Ray Bergeron, president of the club.

INNISFAIL - The Rangeland Beef 4-H Club held its local Public Speaking Competition on Feb. 3 at the Oklahoma Hall. It was a great turnout and show of support from family and friends.

BOWDEN – The new $2.3-million Bowden Community Hall will officially open next month with all bills paid.
