PENHOLD – The town's fire department will soon have a new roof. Penhold council recently awarded a contract to Black Diamond Contracting to install a new metal roof at the Penhold Fire Department, located at 1001 Minto Street.

INNISFAIL – Good-hearted Mounties are busy preparing for this year's 22nd annual Charity Check Stop that will be held next month. This year's Charity Check Stop is set for Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

INNISFAIL - Fundraising continues as the Welcoming Communities committee waits for the next steps to happen in their mission to bring a Syrian refugee family to Innisfail. “We continue to wait,” said Rev. Kathy Calkins, a member of the committee.

BOWDEN - A Bowden Institution inmate has died while in custody. Emergency services were called on Nov. 11 and arrived at the minimum and medium security prison at approximately 10 a.m., according to Correctional Service Canada.

INNISFAIL - A young Innisfail girl whose courageous fight against the disease that took her life two weeks ago has been recognized as an inspiration and a great comfort to those who knew and loved her.

OLDS – INNISFAIL - The Chinook's Edge School Division board will be discussing the recently-passed Bill 24 at its upcoming Nov. 29 meeting to see if any changes to the division's policies and procedures are needed, says superintendent Kurt Sacher.

INNISFAIL - Two expansions to Innisfail businesses will help add dollars to the town coffers and jobs to the community. The replacement and expansion of the Central Alberta Co-op gas bar is underway, as is the expansion of Agrocorp Processing Ltd.
