It was not long in coming.

As the holiday season approaches, local music lovers will soon be able to enjoy the gifts and offerings of some very talented Canadian musicians when they return to Innisfail later this month.

Be prepared to hear the old Christmas song Teddy Bear Picnic often. “If you go out to the woods today, you're in for a big surprise For today is the day, the teddy bears have their Christmas,” says the tune.

The Innisfail middle school auditorium was abuzz as the members of the Innisfail Legion, cadets from Penhold Squadron #7 and Innisfail Legion Pipe Band prepared to lead the junior/senior high students into an hour of remembrance on November 6.

Innisfail town council, in an impromptu meeting attended by skateboarders and parents, gave the go ahead to begin the process of building a new skate park for local youth.

There may have been a nasty snowstorm blowing through the evening of Nov. 2 but it did not deter scores of business people and citizens from taking in the sixth annual Rotary Night at the Innisfail Library Learning Centre.

The Seniors Drop-in Centre is offering a full slate of programs and services over the next month, including a full discussion on wills, estates and memorials.

In the middle of the night, there is a feeling in the community that something is going on.

It seems somehow fitting this time of year that ghosts will soon be sighted at the Innisfail Public Library.

Just as the final note of the Last Post was played at the cenotaph under a brilliant blue sky a flock of Canada geese offered hundreds of Innisfailians a unique but timely flyover.
