A man charged after seven people were attacked during a Didsbury home invasion in November 2010 has been ordered to stand trial.The accused faces charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, break and enter, possession of a prohibited weapon, and wearing a disguise with intent.His three-day preliminary hearing before Judge Peter Barley wrapped up in Didsbury provincial court on May 29 when he was ordered to stand trial.The Crown withdrew a charge of attempted murder.Three men were severely injured and four others were hurt when two masked assailants entered the Didsbury residence in the 2000 Block of 24 Avenue on Nov. 21, 2010, say police.During the attack three of the men were struck with a hatchet and a hammer, with all receiving severe injuries.A publication ban prohibits reporting on testimony given during the preliminary hearing.Scott Lockhart Demolitor of Langdon will be back in court Aug. 3 when a Court of Queen's Bench trial date will be set.The trial of a second man, Jesse Boyd Beach, charged in the same Nov. 21, 2010 attack, has already started in Court of Queen's Bench and is scheduled to continue in July.– with files from Johnnie Bachusky
