Colts split weekend games

The Mountain View Colts won one game and lost another during last weekend’s road trip to southern Alberta. The team defeated the Lomond Lakers in Claresholm on Saturday night by a 3-2 score.

The team defeated the Lomond Lakers in Claresholm on Saturday night by a 3-2 score.

The Colts got two goals from Josh Gette, one on the power play and one short-handed, and a single from Trey Wallace with assists from Mitchel Visser and Paton Rothenbusch.

Griffin Andrews got the win in goal, stopping 25 of 27 shots.

The Colts then took on the Medicine Hat Cubs on Sunday afternoon, falling 4-2.

The team got goals from Carter Layden and Trey Wallace. Ethan Woodwood was in net.

“I’m happy with the way the boys played on the weekend,” said coach Gord Olsen. “We outshot them on Sunday but didn’t get the goals.”

The Colts are now 7-2-1 on the season. They are home against Rocky Mountain House on Friday night.
