Friday's fog advisory extended to Innisfail, Bowden, Red Deer County

RED DEER COUNTY – A fog advisory was extended north Friday morning to include Red Deer County and urban centres near it.

In its 8:12 a.m. Nov. 1 weather alert update, Environment and Climate Change Canada (Environment Canada) extended a special weather statement to include Red Deer County, Penhold, Innisfail, Bowden, Pink lake, Spruce View and Red Lodge Provincial Park .

“Areas of dense fog with near zero visibility will continue this morning. Conditions are expected to improve by this afternoon. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop,” the federal agency’s special weather statement for the area said.

Earlier in the morning, the federal agency advised that Mountain View County and the urban centres near it were under a special weather statement.
