About 130 Morgan and American Saddlebred horses from around the province will be showing off their skills from Sept. 2 to 4 at the MegaDome in Olds during the Alberta Morgan Horse Club annual show. This is the first time the show will be held in Olds in at least 15 years, said Kathy Padgham, past-president of the club, which covers the entire province.ìWe kind of go all over the place,î she said, adding that Olds was chosen this year because of the MegaDome.Dressage, riding and driving classes will take part in the three-day event.Padgham said Morgans are extremely adaptable horses.ìThey're known for their versatility. They're great family horses. We'll have mothers and daughters using the same horse, (and) they are a good work horse,î she said.Padgham said while there are a few other shows throughout the year for Morgans, because there is only one large club, this event is the one everyone with an interest in Morgans circles on the calendar.ìWe'd love the public to come out,î she said.
