Marksman file closed

Mountain View County has closed its file regarding the Mountain View Marksman Association, the policies and priorities committee heard during its recent regularly scheduled meeting.

Mountain View County has closed its file regarding the Mountain View Marksman Association, the policies and priorities committee heard during its recent regularly scheduled meeting.

In October 2017 association officials appeared before the committee to discuss sound abatement testing at the association’s Olds-area property and the county’s process for special events permits for possible activities at the site.

At the time the committee passed a motion recommending that council consider a special events permit for the association to undergo sound abatement testing and that adjacent landowners be consulted about the plan.

“To date, no special events application has been received,” administration said in a note to the committee, “nor has there been contact from the association regarding this matter.

“It has been almost a year since this information was conveyed to the association, therefore, the CAO is now considering this file closed and intends to remove the motion from the policies and priorities directives.”

Committee members passed a motion accepting the administration report as information.
