The second event of the 2016-17 Mountain View Cowpoke Junior Rodeo Club season attracted more than 70 young competitors.
The event was held at the Raecer Ranching Arena at Westward Ho on Nov. 19.
The rodeo features competitors age three to 14. The club is in its second season.
Competitors take part in a number of rodeo events: goat tying, goat untying, pole bending, steer riding, breakaway roping and barrel racing.
Co-organizer Patricia McKean says although the new season is just underway the kids are learning the ropes very well.
“Everybody is doing very well,” said McKean. “We have some really young ones this year.”
The results of the Nov. 19 rodeo are as follows:
• Ellie Havens won the 7 and under pole bending event with a 30.86 time. Jorgia Holmes finished second and Liam Havens finished third.
• Trippett Lunde won the 6 and under goat tail tying event with a 13.51 time. Ellie Havens finished second and Raelynn Sande finished third.
• Jorgia Holmes won the 7 and under goat tying event with a 42.77- second time.
• Grace Havens won the 7 and under barrels event with a 19.32 time. Ellie Havens finished second and Jorgia Holmes finished third. There were 11 competitors in the event.
• Joel Evans won the steer riding event with a 61. Brandon Tetz and Gordon Erickson tied for second with a 65, and Tanner Charles and Glen Erickson tied for third with a 67.
• Kyla Kelly won the 12-14 breakaway roping event with a 3.9-second time. Hayden McKean finished second with a 4.6 time.
• Jayce McKean won the 11 and under breakaway roping event with a 6.62-second time.
• Caleb Fawcett and Denim Ross won the 14 and under team roping event with a 7.78 time. Fawcett and Brody Coleman finished second.
• Cayden Cyrankiewicz won the 8-11 goat tying event with an 11.47- second time. Hannah Sheehan finished second and Denim Ross finished third.
• Reagan Tebb won the 12-14 goat tying event with an 11.26-second time. Kyla Kelly finished second and Justise Jones finished third. There were 10 competitors in the event.
• Emma Webb won the 8-11 barrel racing event with a 14.99-second time. Aubrey Ross finished second and Teagan Brink finished third. There were 22 competitors in the event.
• Reagan Tebb won the 12-14 barrel racing event with a 14.75-second time. Paige Fenton finished second and Traci Edmondson finished third. There were 18 competitors in the event.
• Joel Evans won the 8-11 pole bending event with a 23.18-second time. Tacie Tuck finished second and Denim Ross finished third. There were 16 competitors in the event.
• Jacey Barnett won the 12-14 pole bending event with a 22.83-second time. Reagan Tebb finished second and Allie Pals finished third. There were 15 competitors in the event.
The next Mountain View Cowpoke Junior Rodeo Club rodeo is January 28 at the Raecer Ranching Arena.
