Mountain View County residents will have a chance to fill up on free pancakes later this month.A pancake breakfast to commemorate the county's 50th anniversary will be hosted by council and staff on Friday, Sept. 16, at the county office on Highway 2A and the Bergen Road.Breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the county is promising ìan array of breakfast fareî prepared by councillors.ìWe thought a pancake breakfast would be a perfect way to mark the county's 50th anniversary and also offer something to our ratepayers during the busy harvest and back-to-school season,î Div. 2 Coun. Trish McKean, a member of the anniversary committee, said in a release.Committee chair Kathy Blain, the former Division 4 councillor, and Reeve Paddy Munro will speak at the breakfast and the committee will unveil the county's self-guided tour book, an eight-page booklet containing an itinerary for a motorized tour of county historical landmarks and places of significance.
