CARSTAIRS – At its regular meeting on Nov. 14, Carstairs town council approved an amendment to Land Use Bylaw 1023 that will allow redesignation of 21 hectares of land located east of Highway 2A (Marygold), north of the Carstairs Golf Course.

Mountain View County (MVC) councillor Al Kemmere has been re-elected by acclamation to a second term as president of the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties (AAMDC).

DIDSBURY – Crews are busy working on the Rosebud Trunk Line, which is expected to be completed next year. The project will enable the town to accommodate development in the north and east quadrants of Didsbury.

DIDSBURY – The Didsbury Car Club used its AGM on Nov. 10 as an opportunity to look back at its accomplishments as well as look forward into the future. The club is heading into its 25th year and is looking bigger and better than ever.

I am fairly certain that Donald J. Trump, the president-elect of the United States has never heard of Mountain View County, Alberta, and may never.

DIDSBURY – Despite some negative feedback from residents, council approved final reading of Bylaw 2016-12, which allows administration to enter into a loan agreement with the Wild Rose Humane Society.

DIDSBURY/CARSTAIRS - A local cadet has returned to the area and will be taking over as the commanding officer of the Didsbury Army Cadets on Nov. 17. Captain Tim Kaczmarski grew up in Carstairs and has been with the cadets almost his whole life.
