The Olds Grizzlys have their work cut out for them as they host the Okotoks Oilers this Friday at the Sportsplex. Game time is 7 p.m.
As of Monday, the Oilers were in first place in the Alberta Junior Hockey League's eight-team Viterra South division with 43 wins, six losses, two overtime losses and four overtime wins in 51 games.
The Grizzlys sat in last place in the division, with 16 wins, 34 losses, four overtime losses and two overtime wins in 54 games.
On the bright side though, the Grizzlys were only four points back of the Canmore Eagles, who had 19 wins, 32 losses, two overtime losses and one overtime win in 53 games.
This past weekend was not kind to the Grizzlys.
On Friday night, the Drumheller Dragons doubled up on the Grizzlys 6-3 at the Sportsplex.
On Saturday, the Drayton Valley Thunder also doubled up on them, 8-4 in Drayton Valley.
The Grizzlys had a much better result on Tuesday, Feb. 6, when they beat the Camrose Kodiaks 4-2 at the Sportsplex.
