The Olds Grizzlys have traded second-year forward Brad Girard to the SJHL's Yorkton Terriers for 17-year-old forward Dalton Ossman, according to a press release last Tuesday, Oct. 3.
Girard played the 2016-17 season with the Grizzlys, collecting 10 points over 46 games, with three goals and seven assists. The Slave Lake native has skated in every regular season game to date for the Grizzlys this year, and almost tied last year's record, with two goals and seven assists.
Calgary native Ossman previously played two full seasons with the Calgary Canucks (2015-16, 2016-17) before starting this year with the Terriers, grabbing one goal in his four games.
The release said head coach Adam Redmond coached Ossman during his time with the Canucks and throughout his minor hockey career in Calgary.
"Dalton is a highly skilled forward who will help the Grizzlys offensively," said Redmond in the release.
