The curling season is quickly coming to a close. Junior curlers have one more week of league play and will wind-up on March 18.

It will be a fun day with the curlers having a chance to show off their skills they have achieved over the year. There will be many fun activities like ice cream curling, golf on ice, and noodle races plus a presentation of awards and recognition ceremony at the end of the day. We invite family members and friends to come share this day with their favourite curlers.

February and March have proven to be busy for our junior curlers as the bonspiel season is in full force.

Congratulations to Nicole Green, Erika Kyler, McKenzie McElhinney, and Victoria Taylor for their gold medal effort at the Sylvan Lake Junior Bonspiel recently. They won all three of their games.

We would also like to congratulate Taylor Grassi, Emily Johnson, Madeline Werezak, and former junior curler Lexi Nylund for bringing home a gold medal from the high school zones held in Okotoks. They advanced to provincials which was held in Lloydminster. Good job ladies for getting to the provincial level.

Also, Ryan Caines and former junior curlers Dale Nylund, Tanner Hilts and Ian Stevenson represented Sundre High School at zones and earned themselves a bronze medal.

Becca Konsch and her junior ladies team achieved a silver medal performance at the Canada Winter Games in Halifax.

Thank you to all our competitive curlers for being such great ambassadors for the game of curling and for our community.
